Is Sean Penn Gay?

October 8, 2011 at 9:22 am

Famous Hollywood actor Sean Penn has been the subject of much speculation around the Preble Post Office ever since Milk wound up in our Blockbuster queue. In the movie, Penn plays Harvey Milk, the first gay governor of California. He had some very convincing “love scenes” in that movie, and in his speech at the academy awards he spoke out against anti-gay discrimination.

So, inquiring minds want to know: is Sean Penn gay in real life? Find out after the jump.

It’s Fall Gala Time!

October 7, 2011 at 7:36 pm

Tickets are going on sale for the October 22nd Fall Gala which will benefit the senior class at Preble County High School.

The theme this year is “Autumn Leaves”. It’s a great opportunity to support some even greater kids!

My second oldest son is Zachary is a senior and I am going to miss him very much. He’s such a sweet boy, he hasn’t had trouble at school since second grade.

That year I got called into the principal’s office for a chat because his teacher said that Zachary wouldn’t stop sticking his hands down his pants. I asked him why and he said, “I don’t know, it just feels good!”

I told him it wasn’t appropriate school behavior and he’s been on the straight and narrow ever since!

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for everyone else. The dance starts at 7:00pm. I’m hoping to see a lot of you there!

I’ve Been Thinking About Cats Again

October 4, 2011 at 11:09 am

I love how the Internet brings people together. Just yesterday, I saw a video from the “online dating service” http://www.E-HARMONY.com in which a very nice, articulate young lady shares her enjoyment of felines with the whole world.

The really incredible thing about the video is just how much this young woman loves cats. She loves cats so much that she even starts crying every time she thinks about them!

Seeing that video reminded me of my own two wonderful kitty critters, Pally and Izzie. Boy have they been in some shenanigans lately. Read more →→→

iLove the iPod!!

October 3, 2011 at 12:58 pm

My son Zachary’s 17th birthday is coming up, and when he told me he wanted an iPod, I thought he meant there was something wrong with his vision!

But it turns out that in this day and age, you can fit thousands of songs into one small piece of equipment.

I had to go to Cincinnati to pick up my cousin Barbara from the airport so on the way back we stopped at the “Apple” store before heading home. What a place!

The Obama Tax Hikes May Be Unfair To Millionaires

September 27, 2011 at 3:36 pm

Everybody knows that the United States owes a lot of money to the Chinese.

President Barack Obama’s plan is to raise that money without having to cut spending by increasing taxes on millionaires and other super-wealthy Americans.

This seems like a fine idea at first, especially to those of us in Preble, who are regular everyday hardworking people and wouldn’t be affected by the taxes at all. But at the same time, is it possible that we’re giving millionaires the “short end of the stick”? Read more →→→

Welcome to the very first NFL Blog Post on the Preble Post! We might not have an NFL football team of our own here in Preble, but most of us live just an hour and a half away from Cincinnati, so we’re die-hard BENGALS fans around here. Can I get a “Who Dey!?!?!” Read more →→→

Moose Stuck in Tree, You Have To See It To Believe It!

September 11, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Oh my god, check this out–

A MOOSE got stuck in a tree in Sweden after eating some “fermented” apples.

Reminds me of Hank at the office christmas party!!! (just kidding, Hank!)

On a more serious note, it’s amazing how funny things can happen halfway across the world, and we can share chuckles about them right here in America through the power of the World Wide Internet.

What do you think the moose was thinking about when he was stuck in that tree? Give us your opinions in the comments.

Welcome to the Preble Post

September 9, 2011 at 11:45 am

The Preble Picayune was a bi-weekly newspaper that served the people of Preble County, Ohio for over a century. Just a few years ago, “The Pic” was a flourishing publication, reaching almost 30,000 readers daily, but with the rise of the World Wide Web, circulation fell into a decline. By September 2009 only fourteen subscribers remained. The Picayune, like so many other local newspapers around the country, was forced to close its doors.
